A box of Chocolates and a movie to just make you realize how awesome you are or to make you realize how crying over that jerk doesn’t deserve your time or to make you realize that you might have failed today but you are yet to give your best shot. So whatever be the reason for your feeling low, girls, am sure the following movies are gonna bring you back from your blackhole… 🙂 Check out my list of must-watch movies to lift you up when you feel low.

1.Legally Blonde

Ya you are pretty and you love fashion. Yes you know the best places to shop in town and going for a manicure is your idea of rewarding yourself.

But that doesn’t make you dumb or less serious, in any manner. We have the beautiful Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) reminding us that you don’t have to give up on your love for shoes and everything pretty and girly, to be taken seriously.

Elle, a girly girl who is dumped by her boyfriend who thinks she is not the “serious” type of girl. He believes that he needs to be seen with a serious type of girls coz he aspires to have a career in politics. Elle takes everyone by surprise when she clear the LSATs with a very high score and gets entry to Harvard where she plans to win back her boyfriend (Matthew Davis) who has found another girl Vivian (a nerd who he thinks will give him a serious image).

Elle is made fun of and nobody takes her seriously because of her good looks and girly nature. But she emerges the winner as the movie progresses proving everybody wrong. She wins over everyone with her intelligence and integrity and in the course realizes that she was crying over the wrong man and she deserves much better who will know her value and respect her. Legally Blonde is your any day girly movie which will leave you feeling happy and proud.

2. He is Just not that Into You

I love this movie because it explores and unravels the many layers of relationships in a beautiful manner. Through the series of events in the life of nine individuals, the movie has a really noteworthy take on relationships. Each story dealing with a particular shade of the man-woman bond.

“Through all the unreturned phone calls and texts and broken hearts… Through all the blunders and misread signals…. Through all the pain and embarrassment…. You never ever gave up hope. Knowing that… Leads to your Happy Ending.”

Ginnifer Goodwin shines as Gigi. With her firm belief that she would find her “the one”, we watch her go through phases of anxiety. Watch her freak over misinterpreted signals by guys she has dated. Watch her when she picks up the funda of “Rule” and “Exception” from Alex (Kevin Connolly). I find her journey especially cute just like the final smile on her face when she has her Happy Ending. Alex really gives us some food for thought when he says , “Trust me. If a guy doesn’t call you, he doesn’t want to call you. If a guy treats you like he doesn’t give a shit, it’s because he doesn’t give a shit.” Truly this fact is gonna save many of us the time which is spent sitting beside the phone all day long and at every call or message think “Let it be him.”

All other stories are equally heart capturing and one of them which deserves a mention here is of Beth and Neil (Jennifer Aniston and Ben Affleck) who have been together for 7 years. It sees Beth go through the emotional turbulence which every girl in her position will go through. The big question of “Marriage”. It sees their relationship survive through the ups and downs and is a beautiful example of the word commitment.

Thus all in all He is Just not that Into you gives you all the sugar and spice of a relationship and actually forces you to once try to look at the harsh reality that he may just not be that into you. Even though accepting this might be tough but it saves lots of your time of freaking out on questions like “Why isn’t he calling me”, “Does he like me”, “When is he gonna propose”, etc… 😛
